Good Clean Fun is officially strictly business... all day long.
You may know us best for natural wine, Italian food and late nights on the patio, but Good Clean Fun is also an all-day café and specialty coffee shop in Downtown Los Angeles, opening at 7 AM Tuesday through Sunday.
Whether you're a DTLA local looking for somewhere to work, meeting someone over coffee, grabbing an espresso on the way to the office or settling in for lunch, we wanted our morning program to get the same level of attention we give our wine list.
That means Canyon Coffee, freshly made Numilk plant-based milks and Proper Syrup, all served from our café at 868 S Olive Street in Downtown LA.
Pouring: Canyon Coffee
Good coffee starts with good coffee.
We serve Canyon Coffee, the Los Angeles roaster known for thoughtful sourcing and a lineup that includes organic and Regenerative Organic Certified coffees.
We're pulling espresso on our La Marzocco and brewing fresh coffee throughout the morning. You'll find espresso, Americanos, cortados, cappuccinos, flat whites, lattes, cold coffee and more.
The goal is the same philosophy we've always brought to wine: start with a great producer, treat the product properly, and don't overcomplicate it.
So if you're looking for specialty coffee in DTLA, yes, the natural wine bar is also very serious about your morning latte.
Plant-Based Milk: Numilk
A good alternative milk shouldn't feel like the consolation prize.
For our plant-based milk options, we use Numilk, which makes fresh almond and oat milks without the gums, fillers and preservatives commonly found in packaged alternatives. Their milks are designed to work especially well in coffee and create the texture and foam you actually want in a latte or cappuccino.
It fits naturally with how we think about sourcing at Good Clean Fun: fewer unnecessary ingredients, better flavor and products made by people who care about what they're making.
Flavoring: Proper Syrup
And then there is syrup.
If you're going to spend this much time sourcing good coffee, dialing in espresso and making fresh plant-based milk, pouring generic coffee syrup into it at the end doesn't make much sense.
That's why we use Proper Syrup for our flavored drinks.
Proper was created specifically for specialty coffee and makes its syrups with ingredients including cane sugar and organic agave, with flavors designed to complement coffee rather than bury it.
Depending on the season, you'll find flavors like vanilla, lavender, pistachio, salted caramel, hazelnut and strawberry behind the bar.
And apparently you guys are as into Proper as we are, because we've been selling a lot of it online.

Baking: Out of Thin Air
Obviously coffee needs a pastry.
We stock a rotating selection of fresh pastries from Out of Thin Air, known for sourdough fermentation and beautifully made baked goods.
Expect croissants, danishes, cookies and other rotating morning options alongside the coffee bar.
Come early. The pastry case does not have infinite resources.
Not Just Grab & Go Anymore
The café may start at 7 AM, but GCF doesn't turn back into a wine bar when breakfast ends.
Lunch is served Tuesday through Friday from 11 AM to 2 PM, with Italian sandwiches, Roman-style pizza, fresh burrata, natural wine, Canyon Coffee and a full bar. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 3 PM.
So you can come in for a cappuccino at 9, accidentally still be here at lunch, and eventually admit that you're not leaving.
We have fast WiFi and room to work, so this is a judgment-free zone.
