Region: Umbria, Italy (Colli Perugini DOC)
Grapes: Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Body: Full

The Chiorri estate is a historic fixture of the Umbrian landscape, with a lineage of winemakers dating back to 1890. The "Saliato" holds a special place in their heart as it is a "cru" named after the specific plot of land where the winery itself is located. Perched on a hill overlooking the Tiber River valley, the vineyards benefit from an east-west exposure that catches the sun from dawn until dusk. Notably, Chiorri was the first winery in the entire Umbria region to receive the SQNPI sustainability certification. Despite using modern technology, they remain fiercely loyal to tradition, harvesting all grapes by hand in small woven baskets and aging this specific blend for 12 months in oak barrels to achieve its signature depth.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
