"Spiritus Terrae" (The Spirit of the Earth) is a dedicated project by Bio Cantina Orsogna, an award-winning winemaking cooperative tucked away in the foothills of the Majella National Park in Abruzzo. The cooperative has been a quiet juggernaut for ecological viticulture since 1965, eventually transitioning into one of the largest producers of organic and Demeter-certified biodynamic wines in all of Europe.
This 2022 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is part of their limited-run "Le Gemme" series, focusing on unadulterated, spontaneous fermentations that let the terroir speak for itself. The grapes are sourced from hillside vineyards located roughly 15 kilometers from the Adriatic Coast, where the maritime breezes keep the grape bunches dry and maintain a crisp acidity.
