Region: Bourgogne, Burgundy, France
Grapes: Aligoté
Body: Light-Medium
Notes: Crystalline and precise. White flowers, fresh peach, lime zest, chalky minerality. Long, refreshing finish with a saline edge. Meursault-level care in a village-level bottle.
Pairing: Shellfish, goat cheese, radishes with butter, grilled fish, charcuterie.

Additional Info: Antoine Jobard is the son and heir to François Jobard, one of the legendary Meursault producers and among the first ever imported by Kermit Lynch. Antoine took over in 2007 and has pushed the family's perfectionism even higher. The Aligoté comes from a single 0.2-hectare vineyard planted in 1987 on clay-limestone soils, adjacent to his Meursault parcels. Gently pressed with no settling of must, fermented and aged in oak (20% new) with native yeasts, no lees stirring during aging. The family has been farming organically for generations — no weedkillers, always ploughed, grass between rows — though without formal certification. Five generations of Meursault winemaking, producing only 5,000-9,000 bottles per year. These are rare, collectible wines built for long aging.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
