The Producer
Domaine Anne Pichon is located at the foot of Mount Ventoux in the Southern Rhône Valley. Founded by Marc Pichon (who named the estate in loving tribute to his late wife, Anne), the domaine is dedicated to highlighting high-altitude cool-climate sites in a historically warm region. The vineyards, situated on clay-limestone and sandy soils, are farmed strictly under certified organic principles without synthetic chemicals or herbicides. In the cellar, winemaking is guided by low-intervention hands: spontaneous wild-yeast fermentations, minimal manipulation, no heavy oak influence, no fining, no filtration, and minimal or no added sulfites.

The Wine
"Sauvage" Orange is the estate's dedicated skin-contact expression of 100% Roussanne. Sourced from organically farmed, high-altitude vineyards near Mormoiron, the hand-harvested grapes undergo spontaneous wild-yeast fermentation with 18 to 21 days of skin maceration in stainless steel and neutral concrete tanks. This contact extracts a luminous amber-gold color and subtle phenolic tannins while preserving Roussanne's natural stone-fruit aromatics. Aged on fine lees without oak intervention and bottled raw, the 2024 vintage balances rich orchard fruit with a driving mineral core and a clean, savory finish.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
