The Producer
Le Spinee is a small, family-run estate located in the rolling hills of the Treviso province within Veneto, Italy. Dedicated to traditional and sustainable viticulture, the estate focuses on preserving the classic, unpretentious style of historical Prosecco. Farming their vineyards with minimal environmental impact, the family prioritizes hand-harvesting and natural cellar practices to express the crisp, mineral character of their limestone and clay soils. Rather than industrial production, Le Spinee crafts artisanal sparkling wines that emphasize freshness, drinkability, and regional tradition.

The Wine
"Spago" refers to the traditional string (spago) tied by hand over the cork to keep it secured under light pressure, a centuries-old method unique to traditional Italian frizzante wines. Crafted from 100% Glera, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing and a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel to preserve delicate aromatics. The second fermentation yields a soft, gentle bubble rather than a heavy, aggressive mousse. Non-vintage and finished completely dry, this cuvée masterfully pairs crisp orchard fruits and delicate floral notes with a light, zesty frame and a mouthwatering, clean finish.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
