Region: California (multi-vineyard blend — primarily Santa Barbara County with Sonoma/Napa fruit)
Grapes: Syrah (with a touch of co-fermented Viognier in some lots)
Body: Medium to full
Notes: Dark and broody with violet perfume, cracked black pepper, black plum, and a savory hit of cured meat.
Pairing: Grilled lamb, steak frites, roasted mushrooms, or anything with herbs and char.

Bedrock Wine Co. Syrah is crafted by Morgan Twain-Peterson out of Sonoma Valley, sourcing declassified fruit from some of California's most revered vineyard sites — including Bien Nacido, White Hawk, Nolan Ranch in Santa Barbara and Hudson Vineyard in Napa. All lots are fermented with indigenous yeasts and 20–50% whole clusters to build perfume and spice, then aged predominantly in neutral French oak puncheons and demi-muids to keep the focus squarely on the grape. The result is a Syrah that channels the savory, peppery elegance of the Northern Rhône at a California price point. Bedrock was founded in 2007 in a converted chicken coop and has become one of California's most respected producers, championing old vines and historic vineyard sites with a minimalist winemaking approach.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
