Grapes: 100% Sangiovese
Body: Medium to full
Notes: Blood orange, cherry, and raspberry layered with sandalwood, tobacco, and a salty, savory finish. Old-school Tuscan charm with some serious polish.
Pairing: Grilled bistecca, wild boar ragù, aged pecorino, or a classic margherita pizza.
Carobbio Chianti Classico is produced by Tenuta Carobbio, a historic estate in Panzano in Chianti founded in the 15th century by the Magaldi family of Florentine merchants, and revived under enologist Dario Faccin — who spent eight years mapping 740 acres of soil types before turning his talents to winemaking. The first vintage of the revived estate (2013) won Decanter's "Best of Show." This 2018 is 100% Sangiovese, hand-harvested and fermented for 10 days in temperature-controlled steel tanks followed by an 18-day post-fermentation maceration. The wine is aged 18 months in French oak barriques and refined 6 months in bottle. The result is a precise, elegant Chianti Classico with depth, structure, and beautiful Sangiovese expression (91 pts Decanter, 93 pts Falstaff).

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
