The Producer
Azienda Agraria Chiorri is an historic, family-owned estate situated on the rolling hills of Sant'Enea, overlooking the Tiber Valley just south of Perugia in Umbria. Managed today by Monica Chiorri and her family, the estate spans over five generations of winemaking tradition. Operating with a deep respect for environmental sustainability, Chiorri manages its vineyards using integrated pest management, hand-harvesting, and minimal cellar manipulation to preserve the unique microclimate and clay-limestone terroir of the Umbrian hills.
The Wine
"Etesia" takes its name from the refreshing Mediterranean trade winds (the Etesian winds) that cool the Umbrian vineyards during hot summer afternoons. Crafted from 100% hand-harvested Pinot Grigio grapes, the wine undergoes a brief, cold maceration on its coppery skins prior to pressing—a nods to traditional Italian ramato methods—imparting a pale straw hue with delicate onion-skin highlights. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts and aged on its fine lees before bottling, the 2025 vintage delivers an aromatic, crisp profile bursting with white orchard fruit, citrus blossom, and a refreshing mineral core.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
