Region: Castelli di Jesi, Le Marche, Italy
Grapes: Verdicchio
Body: Light
Notes: Crisp, zippy, and no-fuss. Lime, lemon, green apple, pear, a prickle of CO2. Chalky, saline finish. The ultimate seafood-and-aperitivo white.
Pairing: Linguine with clams, prosciutto, grilled fish, salads, aperitivo.

Additional Info: Colleleva's vineyards (the name means "the hill rises") sit on the heights of Le Marche, halfway between the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Eastern sun exposure and cooling Adriatic winds create the perfect microclimate for balancing ripeness and acidity. This is 100% Verdicchio, fermented three weeks in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation, aged three months in stainless steel plus two months in bottle before release. A touch of prickly CO2 is left in to keep it sprightly. Pure, unpretentious, sustainably farmed. Imported by Kermit Lynch — a customer and staff favorite since the 2014 debut.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
