Domaine Brazilier is a historic, family-owned estate situated in Thoré-la-Rochette within the Coteaux du Vendômois appellation of the Loire Valley. Spanning seven generations, the estate is currently led by Jean-François Brazilier and his son Benoit. Benefiting from the region's unique microclimate and rich soils composed of flinty clay and chalky tuffeau limestone, the Brazilier family focuses heavily on sustainable viticulture and native grape varieties—most notably Pineau d'Aunis. Domaine Brazilier's Pétillant Naturel (Pét-Nat) is a sparkling rosé crafted entirely from Pineau d'Aunis—the ancient, peppery red grape indigenous to the northern Loire Valley. Made using the Méthode Ancestrale, the hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed and begin spontaneous wild-yeast fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Before fermentation completes, the wine is bottled under crown cap, trapping the natural carbon dioxide to create a delicate, persistent bubble without any added dosage or commercial yeast.
