The Producer
Du Vin aux Liens is an authoritative, hyper-creative natural wine négoce project founded and operated by Vanessa Letort. After spending years working heavily as a main architect behind the legendary Alsatian collective Les Vins Pirouettes, Vanessa launched her independent venture to connect and celebrate passionate, planet-first grape growers. Based primarily between Alsace and the Loire Valley, she collaborates with small-scale farmers who practice strict organic or biodynamic viticulture. Vanessa takes an active, hands-on role in the vinification of each cuvée, acting as a true winemaking partner rather than just a buyer. Operating under a low-intervention framework, the cellar relies purely on spontaneous native yeast fermentations, neutral tanks, zero mechanical filtering, and little to no added sulfur, building raw, expressive wines packed with immediate joy and regional authenticity.
The Wine
The 2020 "La Petite Lanterne" is a wonderfully bright, highly scannable pétillant naturel engineered to offer maximum refreshment without compromising on aromatic depth. Sourced from 25 to 30-year-old vines rooted in the classic, fossil-rich clay-limestone soils of Alsace, the fruit combines a high-toned blend of Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Muscat. The grapes are harvested by hand on the exact same day and gently co-pressed directly into stainless steel tanks to initiate a spontaneous, native yeast fermentation. Following the ancestral method, the juice is bottled with just enough residual sugar to trap a natural, frothy effervescence inside the glass. After resting for roughly a year on its fine lees before disgorgement, this zero-zero sparkler completely bypasses traditional heavy bready profiles; it masterfully emphasizes crunchy stone fruits, white blossom perfumes, and an electric alpine acidity that demands a deep chill.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
