Region: Aranda de Duero, Ribera del Duero DO, Castilla y León, Spain
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino)
Body: Light to medium
Notes: Salmon pink and elegant. Fresh strawberry, raspberry, white peach, and a hint of dried rose with a dry, mineral finish and lovely Castilian freshness. A rosé with actual backbone.
Pairing: Ibérico ham, grilled prawns, paella, mild aged cheeses, or a long Spanish lunch in the sun.

Finca Torremilanos "Ojo de Gallo" is a Tempranillo rosé from one of Ribera del Duero's most established family estates — a historic property located just outside Aranda de Duero in Burgos, farming its vineyards on the high-altitude plateau (850+ meters) where cool nights preserve acidity and freshness in the grapes. "Ojo de Gallo" — "eye of the rooster" — is a traditional Spanish term for the vivid copper-salmon hue of a properly made rosé from dark-skinned grapes given just a brief skin contact. Made from 100% Tinto Fino (the local clone of Tempranillo), direct-pressed and fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve aromatics, this is a serious, food-driven rosé with the mineral backbone of the high-altitude Duero meseta behind it. Finca Torremilanos has been farming this land since the 1980s with sustainability at the core — a beautiful estate making wines that reflect both tradition and place.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
