Embracing a tongue-in-cheek, low-fi natural wine philosophy, GPA works exclusively with organically farmed fruit sourced from high-quality single vineyards across the Paso Robles region. In the cellar, GPA practices strict minimal intervention: spontaneous fermentations driven entirely by ambient native yeasts, short and gentle macerations, zero oak masking, no chemical additives, no fining, and no filtration to capture the raw, vibrant energy of the site.
The Wine
"Special Request" is GPA’s juicy, high-acid, chillable light red crafted entirely from organically grown Mourvèdre. Historically known for producing heavy, high-alcohol, highly extracted reds in Paso Robles, Mourvèdre is flipped completely on its head here. Harvested early to lock in bright, crunchy acidity and lower potential alcohol, the hand-picked whole clusters undergo a brief, gentle spontaneous wild-yeast maceration in stainless steel. Aged briefly without heavy wood intervention and bottled completely unfined, unfiltered, and raw at just 11% ABV, the 2024 vintage is a high-toned, electric "glou-glou" expression bursting with sour red fruit and herbal freshness—best enjoyed cold.
