Les Têtes is an artisanal natural wine brand based at Le Pressoir in the village of Panzoult, within the historic Touraine Azay-le-Rideau region of the Loire Valley. The domain operates as a passionate winemaking partnership between four lifelong friends—Nicolas Grosbois, Philippe Mesnier, Baptiste, and Vivien—who unified their collective vineyard expertise to craft highly accessible, food-friendly natural wines. Sourced from certified organic and biodynamically farmed vineyards rooted in classic calcareous clay and flinty soils, the collective prioritizes deep soil biodiversity and minimal carbon emissions. Their overarching cellar methodology emphasizes low-intervention winemaking practices, trusting entirely in wild, native yeast fermentations and choosing to bottle with minimal sulfur additions to create pure, high-vibe juice meant to be shared with friends.
The 2023 "Tête Orange" is a vibrant, incredibly refreshing skin-contact orange wine engineered to challenge old-school white wine standards. This unique cuvée utilizes an unconventional assemblage of white grapes, anchoring the structural focus on Chenin Blanc layered alongside aromatic Muscadelle, Mauzac Rose, and Colombard. To achieve its stunning hazy amber appearance and tactile depth, the hand-harvested grape clusters undergo a short 8 to 14-day separate maceration on the grape skins inside neutral concrete vats. This controlled skin-contact technique allows the wine to pull fine, tea-like skin tannins and complex citrus phenols into the juice while maintaining an energetic, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity. Aged strictly in concrete tanks to isolate primary fruit clarity and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this vintage is highly scannable on the palate—bursting with bright orchard fruits, savory herbal top notes, and a bone-dry, saline finish.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
