Grapes: Prugnolo Gentile (Sangiovese clone), with Canaiolo and Mammolo
Body: Medium to full
Notes: Earthy and aristocratic. Dried cherry, plum, leather, iron, dried herbs, and a long, firm, mineral finish. Classic Tuscan Sangiovese with soul and grip — built to last.
Pairing: Wild boar ragù, roasted lamb, bistecca, aged Pecorino Toscano, or hearty bean soups.
Poderi Sanguineto I & II is one of the most authentic and uncompromising estates in Montepulciano, farmed by Dora Forsoni — a fiercely independent farmer's daughter who has been producing Vino Nobile with zero concessions to commercial trends for decades. The estate farms its old-vine Prugnolo Gentile (the local Sangiovese clone) along with traditional complementary varieties Canaiolo and Mammolo on Acquaviva's clay and tufa soils using organic practices, harvesting entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in large Slavonian oak casks with native yeasts and extended maceration, followed by long aging in the same large casks without fining or filtration. The 2022 vintage in Tuscany was warm and concentrated, producing wines of exceptional depth with the structural backbone to age gracefully for 10–20 years. Vino Nobile at its most traditional, most honest, and most Tuscan.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
