Grapes: Chardonnay
Body: Medium
Notes: Pure and terroir-driven. Citrus, stone fruit, green apple, pear, lemon zest. Subtle minerality, bright acidity, no makeup. Cool-climate elegance from a historic estate.
Pairing: Seafood, poultry, creamy dishes, shellfish.
Additional Info: The Porter Bass estate is a 25-acre property in the hills above Guerneville, just nine miles from the Pacific Ocean and below the fog line, surrounded by redwood and fir forests. The estate dates back to the late 1800s, originally planted to Zinfandel and Palomino. The Bass family acquired the run-down property in 1980 and revived it through biodynamic and organic farming, rebuilding soil vitality over generations. The Chardonnay comes from a north-facing slope with 25+ year-old vines, wide spacing, rows running east to west. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in neutral barrels, reflecting true vineyard character. Practicing biodynamic and organic. Imported by T. Edward Wines.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
