Region: Slovenia
Grapes: Riesling
Body: Light
Notes: Jasmine, orange blossom, yellow fruit, smoke, salty
Pairing: White fish, Ceviche, Asian cuisine
About the wine: Herbs, yellow fruit and smoke. Enticingly aromatic light skin-contact white with lovely acidity and a salty finish. Almost too easy to drink.
Label art by Klára Zápotocká, our brilliant Prague-based designer and friend: “I tried to capture the poetic description on the label as accurately as possible: a garden full of diverse plants, creatures, details, buzz, so the drinker has something to look at, something to look for, and can get lost in the seemingly small picture while enjoying the wine as their gaze meets the bottle on the table.”
About the winemakers: United Cellars of Tekov brings together local growers, winemakers, and wineries, united in their goal to preserve life in the soil through the promotion of organic viticulture and care for the land and its future. We strive to keep the people (and their memory and know-how) in our unique region, to remind everybody that agriculture, however tough, is a vocation full of deep meaning and joy.
We see wine, the cultural drink par excellence, as the perfect tool for this: it has the extraordinary ability to bring people together around a table and reveal to them the traditions, history, unique energy and natural conditions of the region from which it comes. Wine, when made with honesty and respect, reminds us of where we come from, and that everything around us, whether living or inanimate, must be lovingly cared for.

What is natural wine?
Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
