The Producer
Vigna Flor is an artisanal, low-intervention micro-estate nestled in the volcanic hills of the Colli Euganei in Veneto, Italy. Founded with a deep commitment to agroforestry, biodiversity, and regenerative agriculture, the estate surrounds its small vineyard plots with wild woodland, fruit trees, and native vegetation. Farming organically and biodynamically, Vigna Flor cultivates old vines rooted in nutrient-rich, dark volcanic marl and clay soils. In the cellar, the approach is strictly natural: spontaneous fermentations powered by wild yeasts, extended skin macerations for whites, no oak masking, no temperature control, no fining or filtration, and zero added sulfur.

The Wine
"La Via della Foresta" ("The Path of the Forest") is Vigna Flor's aromatic, skin-macerated orange wine, crafted from a field blend of organically grown Garganega, Tai (Friulano), and Moscato Bianco. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and undergo spontaneous fermentation on the skins for several weeks in neutral tanks. This prolonged maceration extracts deep amber tones, savory herbal undertones, and structural tea-like tannins while preserving the expressive floral lift of the Moscato and the linear acidity of the Garganega. Bottled completely unfiltered and zero-zero without added sulfites, the 2023 vintage balances bright citrus oil and stone fruit with a salty, volcanic mineral backbone.

What is natural wine?

Natural wine is wine made with minimal intervention from the winemaker, using organically or biodynamically grown grapes and without the addition of chemicals or additives such as sulfites. The result is a wine that is unique, expressive, and often has a more complex and nuanced flavor profile than conventional wines. Natural wine is also often associated with sustainable and ethical farming practices, making it a popular choice for those interested in environmentally friendly and socially responsible products.
